Veteran-Owned Business Expands Services in Tampa Bay

LUTZ, Fla. - May 18, 2020 - PRLog -- Despite COVID-19, The Storytellers Alliance, a local Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned (SDVOSB) and Women-Owned (WOSB) business, is excited to announce the launch of two new lines of service.

Headquartered in Tampa, FL, The Storytellers Alliance was founded on the vision of creating a structured writing program accessible to the community, regardless of education, experience, or socio-economic status.

"After going through the creative writing residency experience during my Masters program at Saint Leo University, I wanted to find a way to bottle that buzz and share it with the community," said Jennifer Harman, President and Co-Founder.

The Storytellers Alliance brings the classroom to your local community by hosting a variety of storytelling workshops and focused instruction for established and aspiring writers, artists, collaborators, communicators, and those who seek growth and healing through the practice of expressive arts and storytelling.

"Our initial business model was to host in-person activities to help build a creative community," said Harman, "but the impact of COVID changed everything, and forced us to reevaluate our business model and come up with a plan to keep the business afloat."

The Storytellers Edge, a new line of business offerings, was created to help local businesses stay engaged with their customers, even during a shut-down.

"Storytelling is a powerful way for a business to create an emotional connection with their customers, build stronger relationships, and strengthen brand loyalty," said Harman.

The Storytellers Edge provides done-for-you (DFY) services, like writing content for marketing pieces or publishing press releases, in addition to hosting training workshops on topics like 'Developing Your Signature Story' and 'Leverage Your Success Through Storytelling.'

The Storytellers Academy, a program intended for 4^th to 12^th grades, was designed to help school-aged students improve their creative writing skills.

"We wanted to develop a fun, engaging writing program that would have a lasting impact as kids transition from middle to high school and into their college years," Harman said, "and like the countless benefits gained from ballet, music, or soccer lessons, our goal is to ignite a love of storytelling while developing critical writing skills, from a young age."

The Storytellers Alliance plans to begin hiring writers and instructors for these new programs in the coming months.
