El Dorado Hills Fire Department Chooses RadioMobile For AVL Mobile Data Communications

SAN DIEGO - July 13, 2020 - PRLog -- RadioMobile, Inc., a provider of mobile communications technology to Fire and EMS agencies, announced that the El Dorado Hills Fire Department has adopted RadioMobile's Patriot Mobile Data Computers (MDCs) for its Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) solution.

"We installed RadioMobile's Patriot All-in-One MDCs because it was the system that was currently in-use at the CAL FIRE Emergency Command Center where we receive our dispatch services," said Michael MacKenzie, Captain at El Dorado Hills Fire Department. "Because the Patriots are connected to the CAL FIRE AVL system, we can interoperate with other fire agencies in El Dorado County as well as throughout the state which helps all of us communicate more efficiently. This is especially critical during wildfires, enhancing efficiency and effective use of resources, allowing the Department to do more with less at a time when budgets are shrinking."

El Dorado Hills Fire Department provides fire suppression, emergency medical services, plus a host of other community services within the nearly 112 square miles of response district encompassing the communities of El Dorado Hills, Latrobe and, under a Shared Services agreement, Rescue, CA. With six stations located throughout these communities, the crews are ready to respond with six engines, one air/light support unit, three water tenders, a water rescue vehicle, one medic unit, and one ladder truck.

The El Dorado Hills Fire Department's AVL solution includes 19 Patriot All-in-One MDCs. The Patriots are loaded with RadioMobile's IQ Mobile Software which provides mapping, status and messaging via the Patriot's high bright touchscreen. Each Patriot receives and sends data to and from the dispatch via IQ Mobile Server which is capable of processing thousands of transactions per second. By using the Patriot MDC along with technology that provides connectivity over LTE/4G, each vehicle is integrated into CAL FIRE's AVL system. The system is flexible and expandable allowing them to start with LTE connectivity and expand to use satellite or LMR-based mobile data in the future while maintaining the investment in the equipment they have already made.

"We are happy to have El Dorado Hills Fire Department join our family of Fire & EMS clients," says Jim Moore, CEO at RadioMobile. "By utilizing RadioMobile, they are able to leverage the AVL system we built for CAL FIRE enabling faster response, data and resource sharing, and maximizing their equipment and human personnel investments."
