Provision Packs Receives $8K Donation from Grind Gastropub & Kona Tiki Bar Charity Event

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. - Jan. 11, 2021 - PRLog -- Provision Packs founder and CEO Carrie Torres is pleased to announce that the 501(c)3 organization has received an $8,000 donation from Grind Gastropub & Kona Tiki Bar. The donation is a result of the Grind's 8th Annual "Giving Thanks at Grind'' charity event held on November 25. The event included a silent auction and live music. Kevin Wakefield, owner/operator of the Grind, presented the check to Carrie last week at the bar/restaurant. Kevin is also owner/operator of 31 Supper Club and Ormond Garage.

"We are incredibly grateful for this donation from Kevin, Scott, and their team," said Carrie. "They are truly helping close the gap on childhood hunger with this donation - it will provide approximately 1,142 bags of food to the hungry children in our community, that's over 11,000 meals...that's truly amazing," Carrie added.

The organization is planning their own fundraiser in May – 'The River Scramble - ParTee on the Halifax'. The event will include floating greens, golf boats and biodegradable fish food balls make the event the "par-tee" on the water. There are no golf carts, only boats. Each foursome travels by boat from tee to tee, with a designated driver/caddy, Boats are docked and golfers come ashore to tee off at the designated nine river front tee locations. Provision Packs is an outreach that fills backpacks with well rounded meals, cooking instructions and hygiene items to the children of our local community that experience hunger on nights and weekends when free or reduced school breakfast and lunch are not available. They currently have nine participating schools, and five feeding partners. In 2019/2020, they packed 11,618 bags, which equaled 104,562 meals, and fed 340 kids per week.
