Follow on Google News | Las Vegas Urban League 'Operation Open Heart' Provides Needy Families With Special Holiday GiftsBy: Las Vegas Urban League VGK donated 100 Kids Club Kits with each kit containing a water bottle, coloring book, drawstring backpack, lapel pin, door hanger, pillowcase, beanie, lanyard and Bluetooth speaker. The Las Vegas Urban League is distributing kits to Women, Infants and Children (WIC) and Early Childhood Connection program recipients throughout Southern Nevada. Additionally, for 10 consecutive years the Urban League has received a visit from its anonymous "Secret Santa" who generously donates spectacular holiday gifts to families in need. "WIC Elves" have selected numerous families to receive holiday gifts purchased from funding by the Las Vegas Sands Corporation. A variety of gifts include infant learning toys, bicycles, clothing, diapers, soft blankets, pet items, electronic educational devices and Teddy Bears for small children. Collectively, the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, Las Vegas Golden Knights, and the "Secret Santa" donor gifts are being delivered the week of Christmas. "We are both humbled and extremely pleased to be able to provide holiday gifts to some needy families throughout the Las Vegas Valley this holiday season," Tony Bourne, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Las Vegas Urban League, said. "We want to thank the Vegas Golden Knights, Las Vegas Sands Corporation and our anonymous "Secret Santa" donor for their generous contributions. Without them, Christmas would have been very bleak for these families. Operation Open Heart is not only providing joy to these families, but also our Urban League families who have participated in purchasing, wrapping and curbside delivery of these gifts. We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous and healthy New Year!" For information about the Urban League WIC program, visit www.wiclv.org.
