By: LA Small Business Development Center The El Monte event is the latest effort by PPE Unite, LA SBDC and partners to help protect small businesses in Los Angeles County to stay open for business and keep workers safe with a FREE 30-day supply of Personal Protective Equipment. "During this current economic and health crisis, PPE Unite has been focused on supporting LA County small businesses and their workers," said Tova Mac, PPE Unite Lead and LA SBDC Advisor. "Expanding our reach to include non-profit organizations and continuing to distribute PPE across Los Angeles communities is a critical next step in our collective effort." To date, PPE Unite has signed up more than 500 businesses in East LA for the El Monte event in a collaborative effort with the City of El Monte. Other available pick-up options for area businesses and non-profits are two pick-up locations in South Los Angeles and San Fernando valley – open five days a week. "Our goal is to ensure that businesses don't have further burdens to their bottom line with the purchasing of PPE materials during this on-going pandemic," said Jay Taso, CEO of Logisticom and Co-Lead at PPE Unite This PPE Unite program is made possible through a partnership between the Los Angeles Small Business Development Center (LA SBDC), Los Angeles County Workforce Development, Aging and Community Services (WDACS), Los Angeles County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs (DCBA), Vermont Slauson Economic Development Corporation (VSEDC) and Logisticom.
