Follow on Google News | miXt Food Hall Adds Culinary Artists to the Gateway Arts DistrictBy: Landex Development miXt Food Hall's mission builds on the community's vision of promoting art through economic development by providing a fun, safe, collaborative environment for food related micro-enterprises to hone their craft and grow their business with low risk. miXt provides vendors with built out kitchens, dining space and utilities allowing the entrepreneurs the ability to begin operations immediately. The mixt team is led by Chef Sandy Patterson, General Manager. Patterson has worked in the foodservice industry most recently as the Chef de Cuisine for LEO|MKT Food Hall at Georgetown University. Patterson built the culinary training program for Unite Here Local 23 and worked at L'Academie de Cuisine as a Chef Instructor for 16 years. Patterson provides the guidance and mentorship to each of the vendors in areas of customer service and culinary operations. The ultimate goal of miXt Food Hall is for each vendor to become established and be able to set up their own brick and mortar location. "miXt Food Hall is a nexus of aspiring culinary enterprises, a savvy neighborhood clientele, and an immersive environment. I am proud to head up the team that will facilitate the operations to bring together the appetites of a curious and hungry neighborhood with the talents and diversity of up and coming culinarians," miXt Food Hall vendors currently include Kenny's Kale, Little Miner Taco, Relish Market, and Saint Crispy's Southern Fried Chicken. miXt will also feature local vendors for Pop-ups in their exhibition stall. The vendors are complemented by miXt Brew, a coffee bar featuring local roaster Vigilante Coffee and Clement's Pastry Shop, and miXt Drink, a full bar spotlighting locally made beers, wines and spirits. Bar Boss Rivka Alvial has curated a menu of signature cocktails, beers and wines that pair with each chef's artistic creation. miXt Food Hall enhances the feel of a community place with its art gallery, which includes a permanent collection of murals created by local artists, prominently displayed throughout the food hall. miXt also has two art galleries for rotating art exhibits which will be curated by Portico Studios and Gallery, operated by local artist John Paradiso. While developing Studio 3807 and Artisan 4100, developer Peter Siegel, CEO of Landex Development wanted to create a community gathering space that was art and family-oriented. To create the 8735 square foot food hall, Landex spent over $2,500,000 which includes the furniture, kitchens, equipment and artwork. http://www.mixtfoodhall.com End
