Follow on Google News | Goodtime Hustle Announces Show with Don Ugly and Beasley at Funhouse in SeattleBy: Checkered Hat Goodtime Hustle is a band based in Seattle that plays a mix of folk, funk, rock, jazz, and country called Folkadelic Con-fusion. The band is fronted by Bud Weather on guitar/vocals and features Chris Denny on lead guitar, Michael Gagliardo on bass and Tom Lash on drums. They count among their influences: The Grateful Dead, Keller Williams, and Pigeons Playing Ping Pong. Goodtime Hustle plays intellectually challenging, groove-oriented, modal jams. Called by "The Stranger" both "mid-tempo" and "melodic," they are bound to amuse and surprise even the most ambivalent of local music supporters. Joining the bill as primary support is Don Ugly, a singer/songwriter from Jacksonville, Florida. Don Ugly is a solo artist who takes influence from musicians like Father John Misty, Deftones, Jim James, and Tom Waits. Don Ugly covers a wide range of musical genres from Indie/Alternative Folk to Psychedelic Avant Rock with hints of Reggae/Surf Rock. Don Ugly's live performances consist of subliminal storytelling delivered with his amazing consoling tenor voice, along with his awesome guitar playing and use of looping pedals you forget that there is just one guy performing. Also appearing is Beasley. Pointedly critical yet hopeful, Beasley writes songs that offer a strong melody, a biting criticism, and a chorus you'll find yourself humming which calls the listener to live more honestly hopeful.
