Ryan Lawn & Tree Partners with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

MERRIAM, Kan. - Aug. 17, 2021 - PRLog -- Ryan Lawn & Tree is excited to announce its partnership with St. Jude as a 'For the Kids' Sponsor' for the 2021 St. Jude Walk/Run in Kansas City.

Ryan Lawn & Tree started partnering with St. Jude in 2010 when an associate's daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of 11 months. This news affected everyone at RYAN, and that is when the leadership at RYAN decided to get involved with the St. Jude community in Kansas City. Every year RYAN associates attend the St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer, along with friends and family members, in support of children who are battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases. We share the same mentality that we won't stop until no child dies from cancer.

In 2009, Jeremy and Jennifer Christiansen, members of the Ryan Lawn & Tree family, received news that no parent ever wants to hear. Their young daughter Avery had been diagnosed with brain cancer. In an instant, the family was faced with needing help, both immediate and long-term. As they sought the absolute best care for their child, the practical realities of everyday life did not stop.

At St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Avery was given the best possible care, no questions asked. St. Jude is committed to providing free care to juvenile cancer patients as they continue their quest to eliminate childhood cancer.

Additionally, the Christiansens found their co-workers and friends at Ryan Lawn & Tree began supporting them in various ways during Avery's treatment, assisting with various tasks such as going to the store to mowing the lawn. While these tasks might seem ordinary, they become challenging when caring for a child in the hospital.

Avery's story hit very close to home for the RYAN family. For this reason, our company is committed to helping St. Jude through donations and participation in the annual Kansas City St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer. Supporting their community in such a way has become a part of the culture at Ryan Lawn & Tree, St. Jude says treatments developed there have helped push the overall childhood survival rate from childhood cancer from 20% when the hospital opened in 1962 to more than 80% today.

Ryan Lawn & Tree has continued its support of Avery, the Christiansens, and St. Jude throughout Avery's life. Currently, this includes organizing a Team Avery/Ryan Lawn & Tree team to participate in and sponsorship of the Kansas City St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer.

This year's event will be held at the Power & Light District on Saturday, September 25. Ryan Lawn & Tree invites everyone to make financial contributions to the team and to even join them on the walk.
