Follow on Google News | Pinellas PAL Kids Get a Jump on the School YearSchool supplies help bring a fresh start to what could be a challenging year.
Neil Brickfield, the Executive Director of the Pinellas County Sheriff's Police Athletic League was delighted with the donation. "PAL's Annual Back to School event has become a staple in Lealman, as many families rely on us and our incredible sponsors to start their school year off on the right foot. None of this would have been possible without your generosity and kind support." A 2021 survey of 1,013 parents by Lendingtree.com showed that 33% of parents cannot afford school supplies for their children. The survey found that parents spent an average of $498 on school supplies per child for the 2021-2022 school year. "We have been supporting PAL for many years," said Pam Ryan Anderson, the Chairwoman for the Clearwater Community Volunteers. "These kids are great kids – they work hard at school and work to overcome challenges that a lot of us never have to confront. It is an honor to help them get off to a fresh start in their new school year." "L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology, said 'The biggest right there is, is not the right to vote, is not the right to freedom of speech or press or religion or anything else. The biggest right there is in human rights is the right to help!' And we stand by those in our community who exercise that right," concluded Ms. Anderson.
