"Hosting community events is a long-standing tradition at the Fort Harrison," said Lisa Mansell, the Community Affairs Director for the Church of Scientology. "In looking at newspapers stories dating back to the 20's, community groups such as the Shriners were reserving the Fort Harrison's ballroom for their events even before its opening in 1926." "This is a tradition that we are proud to carry on, nearly a century later," said Ms. Mansell. "In January alone, we hosted two different nonprofits for their annual events. This month we hosted a documentary screening and we are hosting events for two Greek cultural organizations in the next few weeks. Plus, we host a weekly TV night where we showcase episodes from the Scientology Network – members of the community are welcome to attend and do so every week."
