A&R Consultant 'Mac' Behrens and Singer-Songwriter Forrest Burtnette Launch Hookhunter Music

NEW YORK - Aug. 27, 2021 - PRLog -- Two long-time music industry veterans have announced the launch of Hookhunters Music Publishing, a full-service rights management agency based in Charlottesville, Virginia, with a branch office in Hamburg, Germany. The main management team consists of A&R consultant Marcus 'Mac' Behrens, who is Founder and CEO, and songwriter Forrest Burtnette, who is a managing partner.

Behrens has been working for Sony and Warner, with placements and productions for artists that include Meek Mill, J. Cole, Sabrina Washington, Jadakiss, Frank Lars, and The StoneWolf Band, among others. He has also managed singer-songwriter Nya Crea, who was one of the support acts for Enrique Iglesias and Florence and The Machine. Crea also worked with Tony Mo, whose clients included Destiny's Child and Keisha Cole.

Burtnette is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter who makes his home just outside Charlottesville. He was a founding member of bicycle (lower cased "b"), an "anti-pop" rock band that generated major sponsorships and media attention by touring the U.S. on bicycles. Following coverage in New York Times Magazine, People, and CNN – and in countless local media – the band scored a record deal with Capricorn Records, where they were produced, in part, by Chris Ballew of The Presidents of the Unites States of America.
