Extraordinary Mistakes, first solo exhibition for Tre' Spadoni, incarcerated mystic artist, opens October 1st at Msanii HOUS

CARROLLTON, Texas - Sept. 20, 2021 - PRLog -- Msanii HOUS Fine Art Gallery is proud to present Extraordinary Mistakes, the first solo exhibition for Tre' Spadoni. Extraordinary Mistakes features more than 10 sculptures, wood creations, and drawings created by Spadoni between 2019 and 2021 at the Louisiana Department of Corrections facility where he is currently imprisoned. Spadoni is a post-contemporary artist whose work is inspired by mysticism, spirituality, astrology, and nature, as well as the bold use of color and symbolism of psychedelic rock posters and war-era propaganda. On view from October 1st to October 30th, Extraordinary Mistakes is presented by Msanii HOUS Fine Art Gallery and PROPHET PROPAGANDA™, an art and apparel company founded by Spadoni and William Spencer, the artist's cousin. An opening reception will be held on Friday, October 1st from 6 to 9 PM.

"Extraordinary Mistakes to me is transmuting the worst thing that could happen to you into the best thing that could happen," Spadoni said. "I've made a lot of mistakes before coming to prison, and I think that getting sentenced was the accumulation of all of those things. Doing what I am now, I don't feel like I would have gotten to this point in my life if I didn't come to prison. For me, this title is very much a contradiction in words, but very much a balance of how I feel."

Art for the exhibition is provided by PROPHET PROPAGANDA™. The company was founded by Spadoni and Spencer in 2020 to better the lives of incarcerated individuals through social entrepreneurship. PROPHET PROPAGANDA™ is leading the charge of what they call #RealReform by empowering other incarcerated artists to put down their old ways and tap into their talents and skills to create art and other products that benefit their communities.
