As Malaysia prepares to transition from the Covid-19 pandemic to an endemic phase, the Health Ministry wants to ensure the reopening of sectors is done carefully. Health Minister YB Khairy Jamaluddin said that in the next two months, Malaysians would adjust to the "living with the virus" mindset that the government is advocating.

However, he has reservations on opening all sectors as "there are factors such as ventilation of venues to consider first". The Health Ministry targets to move Malaysia into the endemic phase by the end of October. This means that more sectors will open up completely.
