CLINTON, La. - Feb. 2, 2022 - PRLog -- Mr Gardner assumes the seat formerly held by West Feliciana Parish landowner and entrepreneur, Mr. John Patrick. He is a lifelong resident of Clinton, Louisiana and a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University (SLU). He currently serves as the East Feliciana Parish Tax Assessor, an elected position he has held since 2012, when he followed in the footsteps of predecessor H. T. "Bubby" Jackson. Mr. Gardner worked for the late Mr. Jackson beginning in 1999 and served as Chief Deputy Assessor from 2004 through 2012. He is in large part responsible for modernizing the parish assessor's office, effecting positive change that has greatly benefited East Feliciana Parish and the State of Louisiana as a whole. He has vast experience as a farmer and landowner, as well as being a Certified State Deputy Assessor with continuing education through the International Association of Assessing Officers. Combined with his experience as a state-certified residential appraiser, North American master appraiser and licensed real estate appraiser, Mr. Gardner makes a stellar addition to the Feliciana Soil and Water Conservation District's Board of Supervisors and they are most proud to welcome his expertise and professionalism.

Mr. Gardner is married to Traci Gardner and they are the parents of two young men, Garrett and Greer Gardner. The Gardners are active members of Feliciana Baptist Church. Mr. Gardner works tirelessly throughout the year on various community service projects to better the Felicianas.

Feliciana Soil and Water Conservation District (Feliciana SWCD)'s territory includes both East Feliciana and West Feliciana Parishes. The agency works alongside the NRCS-USDA and closely under the auspices of the Louisiana Department of Agriculture's Office of Soil and Water Conservation. It is one of 44 Soil and Water Conservation Districts in the State of Louisiana and was in fact, the first ever created in Louisiana. SWCDs are local units of state government with functions unique to any other forms of government, due mainly to the capability of entering private property at a landowner's request to plan and/or construct various conservation systems. It is funded by the Louisiana Legislature and through self-generated income.
