MARICOPA, Ariz. - Feb. 5, 2022 - PRLog -- Vice Mayor Manfredi elected to rural transportation advocacy group

During the January meeting of the Central Arizona Governments (CAG) Governing Board, Maricopa City Vice Mayor Vincent Manfredi was elected to serve an additional year on the executive board of the Rural Transportation Advocacy Council (https://www.rtac.net/) (RTAC).

RTAC was established in 2001 to protect and promote rural and small metropolitan transportation interests.

Its executive board, which includes elected representatives from each member Council of Government and Metropolitan Planning Organization, meets monthly to discuss transportation issues.

"With important projects like the 347 and the East-West Corridor, it's important for Maricopa to have someone on RTAC that can advocate, not only for the whole region, but also for Maricopa," Manfredi said. Those two projects are particularly important to the city and its future growth. "Without expansion of the 347, it's hard to foresee growth the way we want it to happen," he said.
