Safe Hands Rescue Announces the Annual Fur Ball Gala to Save Homeless Pets on June 11, 2022

MINNEAPOLIS - April 12, 2022 - PRLog -- Safe Hands Rescue, a Minneapolis foster-based nonprofit animal rescue, announces its annual Fur Ball Gala. After 2 years of holding the Gala virtually, they're thrilled to once again gather together with animal lovers in pursuit of saving more lives than ever before. Tickets for the Fur Ball at the Radisson BLU Mall of America on June 11, 2022 are $150 per person and are now available at safehandsrescue.org/furball

Their goal is to raise funds for The Safe House, their Kentucky rescue property that was opened in June of 2021. Nestled right in the heart of their Kentucky partner communities in rural Appalachia, The Safe House is a critical part of their mission to save as many lives as possible.  It is a place animals can get lifesaving care immediately, when and where they need it the most. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a massive negative effect on animal welfare nationwide. Rural Appalachia, struggling before the pandemic with few animal welfare resources, has been hit particularly hard. Shelters are filling up fast, leaving animals in dire straits. To date, The Safe House has saved the lives of over 1,200 dogs and cats in desperate need, and the demand for life-saving care is continuing to grow.

Since its founding in 2006, Safe Hands has organized and transported a total of more than 30,000 rescued animals from its overcrowded partner shelters in rural Appalachia to the Midwest, where there is a high demand for adoptable dogs and cats.  The communities where their partner shelters are located have very little resources to dedicate to animal welfare and Safe Hands works together with them to save as many lives as possible.

Now with The Safe House, their new property nestled right in the heart of their partner communities in Appalachia, they are working even more closely with local shelters. Overcrowding is reduced when they take in animals from local shelters, critically ill dogs and cats get round-the-clock treatment that isn't possible at shelters, and neonatal puppies and kittens get the intensive care they need to survive.
