Yesterday Starts Now: Paintings by Teri Silsby, Colleen Schreiner and Ron Throop

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - April 22, 2022 - PRLog -- A curated pop up art exhibition featuring three NY artists working in the styles of abstract, portraiture and landscape. Opens at 6 pm, Saturday, May 28 at Galerie at Phenix, 215 Tremont Street, Suite 201 Rochester, NY 14608.

"Through no intention of my own, at least not consciously, there seems to be a commonality between these three artists whose work I'm drawn to for this show. Teri and Colleen are retired art educators and Ron has been painting professionally for many years. All three have separately expressed to me their recent reinvestment in love of painting and a resurgence of energy toward producing and promoting their work."

About the artists:

Teri Silsby: "The challenge of using color, composition, line and texture are the principles I often use in my paintings. I start with a sketch and as I work the painting changes and evolves. Seeking depth and layers of color is what I want to achieve. The movement and freedom of a brush stroke help to accomplish the liberation of my painting."

Colleen Schreiner:  "My work is an extension of my soul, my inner vision, an outward message that appears on canvas, dream like, emotionally symbolic. I close the eyes in my portraits to symbolize that when we go inside, that is where our soul exists. The lines started as a surface pattern then took on a life of their own and became topographical in nature."

Ron Throop: "I am a naïve, intuitive painter and work with a desire toward self-liberation, yet also communion. Success for me is to remain curious and free while exploring technique guided by my own truth. Artistically, I strive to perfect my limitations."
