Ghana Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (GIALS), launches new website

ACCRA, Ghana - June 23, 2022 - PRLog -- The Ghana Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (GIALS), today launched its new website. The new website provides updated information regarding the programs of the Institute, and profiles the members of the Advisory Council.  The Ghana Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (GIALS), headquartered at No.1 Freetown Link, Okponglo Junction, in Accra, Ghana, is a non-profit organization that was foundered by the late Professor Stephen Offei, with the aim of enhancing training and capacity-building in all aspects of the law in Ghana. Part of its mission is to work with universities, the legal profession, industry, civil society organizations, and the community, to develop programs of research, consultancy, and teaching with a focus on social, economic, and sustainable development. GIALS has also been working closely with the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (IALS) in London. Professor Dr. Edmund Kwaw, an Associate Professor of Law, and Head of Department at the Faculty of Law of Wisconsin International University College, is the Acting Executive Secretary of the Institute. He was educated at Achimota School, and holds a Bachelor of Arts, with Honours (B.A. Hons) degree from the University of Ghana Legon, a Bachelor of Laws with Honours (LL.B. Hons) degree from the University of Leeds, and a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree from Queens University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Professor Kwaw also obtained his doctorate degree in law, the Doctor of Jurisprudence (D.Jur) degree, from Osgoode Hall Law School of York University, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
