Studio Row Welcomes Leon's Smoke Shack Restaurant

TULSA, Okla. - July 5, 2022 - PRLog -- Leon is coming to Studio Row, and it's not Leon Russell! Leon Thompson of Leon's Smoke Shack is expanding to a second location, at 3^rd and Trenton Avenue, across from The Church Studio. Leon's Smoke Shack will be located at 1529 East Third Street, in a beautifully renovated building. In addition to sharing The Church Studio's founder's first name, Leon Thompson and Leon Russell share the same birthday, April 2nd. After 40 years of home cooking for family and friends, Mr. Thompson's dreams of owning a restaurant were realized in retirement when the first location opened in 2014 at Sixth and Sheridan.

Considered one of Tulsa's "Hidden Gem Restaurants", Matt Carney of RootTulsa.com, recommends Leon's smoked meats and the Them Beans.  Them Beans are sweet and savory with chunks of brisket, the brisket is juicy, and the ribs fall off the bone. Reviewer Jason C on Trip Advisor suggested he would "throw away (his) grill, there's no comparison". The signature Slap Potato starts with a massive potato, then add a tasty barbeque meat topping, sauce, a ranch dressing drizzle, and then dig in. It's a mission rather than a meal.

Leon's Smoke Shack Restaurant on Third Street will include all your favorite barbecue dishes as well as some exciting new menu items. The freshly made, lovingly crafted cookies, cakes, pies, and bread from Sugar Ruth's Bakery will be sold at Leon's Smoke Shack. "One of the most exciting things for the Thompson family is that we'll be closer to north Tulsa families and near downtown,"  son Leon III stated.  Leon's Smoke Shack is a family-owned business run by Leon, his wife Katherine, and son Leon III.

The new location at 1529 East Third will be open on July 7, 2022.
