Democratic Nominee for Insurance Commissioner Janice Laws Robinson Statement on Allstate Rate Hike

ATLANTA - Aug. 18, 2022 - PRLog -- Following this week's announcement by Insurance Commissioner John King that Allstate is raising auto insurance rates another 25% on Georgia policyholders for a total 40% rate hike this year, Janice Laws Robinson, Democratic nominee for Insurance Commissioner, released the following statement:

"The 40% auto insurance rate hike by Allstate is yet another example of John King and Republicans' failure to protect Georgia citizens," says Janice Laws Robinson, Democratic candidate for Georgia Insurance Commissioner. "John King and Republicans have had years to close a loophole in state law and protect Georgia consumers, but have neglected to do so – and now Georgians are paying the price. I am running to be the next Insurance Commissioner so I can fight to make auto insurance rates affordable and to protect all Georgians, regardless of credit score or zip code."

This rate increase will go into effect for new Allstate customers on September 12, while current customers will see the increase on their renewals beginning October 16.
