Moab Adventure Center Adds New Canyoneering Adventure; Guided Activities Continue through November

MOAB, Utah - Aug. 25, 2022 - PRLog -- Note to Editor:  On August 20, Moab experienced a "100-year flood" due to excessive rainfall. Clean-up is ongoing and the majority of Moab businesses are currently open and operating. All Moab Adventure Center tours are currently operating, as the area that experienced major flash flooding was not in the region where trips are conducted.

Moab Adventure Center, the go-to hub for guided adventure in and around Moab, Utah, continues to evolve ways for visitors to get up close and personal with the sandstone spires, arches, fins and hoodoos that make this a world-class vacation destination.

Among its most popular activities are canyoneering (https://www.moabadventurecenter.com/moab-canyoneering) and rock climbing (https://www.moabadventurecenter.com/moab-rock-climbing), pursuits that carefully take participants past their typical comfort zones.

To help answer the demand for these rapidly growing sports, the company recently added a new Moab canyoneering option that includes rappelling & adventure hiking in Bow and Arrow Canyon (https://www.moabadventurecenter.com/moab-rappelling-hike). This five-hour adventure begins with a hike among sandstone fins up to Longbow Arch, followed by rappelling through slot canyons hidden by massive sandstone monoliths. The route descends farther and farther down into the canyons on each of four rappels. The first descent is a warm-up at 15 feet, followed by descents of 80 and 25 feet, concluding with an open drop of 50 feet. Professional canyoneering guides provide detailed instruction through each section, offering insights into geology, plant life and natural history. No experience is required, just an appetite for adventure. These twice-daily immersions into prehistoric worlds continue through November. For more information, please see https://www.moabadventurecenter.com/moab-rappelling-hike.

The per person rate is $125 (age 13 and up) and $105 (age 10-12). The price includes snacks and water, gear and safety equipment, guided instruction, and transfers.

All guides are trained and certified by the Association for Canyoneering Education (ACE). They have passed every advanced canyoneering and rescue course ACE has and have customized their knowledge to fit the needs of Moab Adventure Center guests and participants.
