Chowder Trail Heating up LBI this Fall

SHIP BOTTOM, N.J. - Sept. 6, 2022 - PRLog -- Traveling tasters continue to add the Chowder Trail in the Chowder Capital of NJ  to their itinerary now through September 30th, where tasters can check in, purchase chowder with their dining experience and vote online for their favorite red, white and creative soups.  Presented by the Southern Ocean County Chamber , there is no cost to vote, get mapping and contact info for restaurants.  Tasters can purchase from the participating restaurants directly as they complete the trail.

Competing Restaurants have chowder offerings in three categories, red, white and creative. Each category gets an online vote. Sample some of this year's best at the following: Country Kettle Chowda is in all three categories with their Chowda shop offering Manhattan, New England and Lobsta Bisque, Daddy O Restaurant & Bar has Daddy ) Red on their menu, Dockside Diner has their Red Sassy Southwestern Chowder,  Russo's Italian Restaurant bring Russo's White Chowder to the table,  The Chicken or the Egg has their award winning New England White, Tucker's Tavern White Bay Scallop and Clam Chowder, Delaware Avenue Oyster House has crowd pleasing Creative Jersey Chowder,  LaBamba Express offers up Jalapeno Leek Seafood Chowder for the creative vote and Old Causeway Steak & Oyster for their creative entry Crab, Corn & Shishito chowder.

The enhanced trail, which covers less than 10 miles, is an excellent add on to discover the Long Beach Island Region. The end of the trail will be celebrated with a one-day free festival with champion announcements held at Taylor Avenue Bayfront in Beach Haven on October 1 from 10am -7pm (Rain Date Sunday) Spend September soaking up new and familiar places, check into one spot and voting for all categories becomes available right on your mobile device. As in 2021, there will be no chowder sampling at the event, but plenty of chowder and local specialties to purchase. There is no entry fee and no tickets are needed to attend, proceeds from this annual event have allowed the Southern Ocean Chamber to work towards fulfilling its 108-year mission of strengthening the business community.
