Mounts Botanical Garden to Kick Off 'Year of the Orchid' with Annual Exotics & Orchids Sale

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Sept. 2, 2022 - PRLog -- (West Palm Beach, FL – September 1, 2022) Friends of the Mounts Botanical Garden will be launching The Year of the Orchida series of special events and presentations—with the annual Exotics and Orchids Sale, September 17 and 18.

"This will be a year-long tribute to the popular flower in the city that was the original home to the American Orchid Society," says Mounts Curator-Director Rochelle Wolberg. "Not only will we host a series of special horticultural exhibits, events and presentations, we will soon begin planting a thousand new orchid plants throughout the garden."

The west end of the Garden will be filled with an amazing selection of orchids and exotic plants with more than 40 of South Florida's premier vendors, including dazzling orchids, begonias, bromeliads, ferns, hoyas, aroids, garden art, baskets, and more, including:

Additional orchid events in the next 12 months will include Plant-a-Palooza the Fall, Winter and Spring Plant Sales, and, in particular, Tropical Holiday Trees (mid-November through December 31), for which Mounts will ring in the holiday season with the creation of three, framed, 8- to 15-foot trees designed by MBG's Horticulture Team and installed with hundreds of colorful bromeliads, poinsettias, and orchids. The 15-foot bromeliad tree will be located near Signature Ridge, the poinsettia tree in the Trial Garden (adjacent to the Great Lawn), and the orchid tree across from the Garden of Well-Being.
