49th Annual Walpole Labor Day Road Race Draws Record Number of Runners

WALPOLE, Mass. - Sept. 11, 2022 - PRLog -- The Walpole High School Cross Country/Track & Field Boosters Organization hosted the 49^th Annual Walpole Labor Day Road Race on Monday, September 5^th.  The fundraising event was a huge success.  Pre-registration boasted nearly 200 more participants than the previous year, and additional race day registrations didn't disappoint.  "Everyone laced-up and came out to support the (WHS Cross Country and Track & Field) athletes even with the threat of heavy downpours," said parent and Race Committee Member, Kristin Bowden, "We were thrilled with how it all turned out."  Fortunately for the Race Planning Committee, the weather cooperated and stayed dry until the final competitors in the 10K Race crossed the Finish Line.

The Walpole Road Race is the largest annual fundraiser to benefit Walpole High School's Cross Country and Track & Field programs.  Generous donations from local businesses, including this year's Platinum Level Sponsors, Herb19, Global Tooling Solutions, and The Run House, support over 200 athletes on 6 teams across 3 seasons.  Proceeds from the event will help purchase new uniforms and equipment, provide stipends for assistant coaches, and award seven college scholarships to graduating seniors.
