Now Is The Best Time To Get Into Remote Work, Says CEO

Individuals who have always wanted to get into remote work may have no better opportunity to do so than now, says Joseph Boll, Remote Worker CEO.

AUSTIN, Texas - Sept. 13, 2022 - PRLog -- Individuals who have always wanted to get into remote work may have no better opportunity to do so than now, says Joseph Boll, Remote Worker CEO, as more companies are embracing full-time or part-time freelancers and other remote workers as members of "integrated teams".

Thanks to the Great Resignation and its resultant labor shortages, in addition to countless companies shifting from traditional offices to remove working models, US companies have had to continually adapt to retain staff and protect their bottom line. As such, many have taken to hiring remote or freelance workers — or both — as something of an extension of their more traditional teams.

"Remote workers aren't just those who are full-time and permanent," notes Boll. "They're not just the ones who had been temporarily remote but are now being unhappily forced to return to the office. They are also the workers who are self-employed, whether from a long time ago or newly decided as an indirect result of the pandemic."

Amid the Great Resignation, quite a fair bit of workers opted to become self-employed, effectively becoming remote freelancers rather than return to traditional work. According to a study by Bloomberg, some third of the growth in the labor market since the pandemic struck has come from self-employed individuals. Additionally, popular freelancer platform Upwork found that nearly 40 percent of workers freelance to some extent.

A recent report by the A.Team also found that as much as 70 percent of tech companies have incorporated integrated, "blended" teams comprising of traditional staff and remote freelancers, with that number expected to increase in the future. Such companies reported that remote work and labor uncertainty has made hiring freelancers not only easier but also more appealing, boding well for individuals looking to breach the field.

"If you're looking to get into remote work, the resources are there and plentiful," says Boll, the chief executive of the jobs board and digital recruitment service designed to help hiring managers and businesses connect with jobseeking professionals for remote work positions. "Opportunities abound for remote work; you don't have to feel that traditional jobs are the only option out there anymore."
