ATLANTA - Oct. 7, 2022 - PRLog -- Science, Engineering and Mathematics Link Inc. (SEM Link) is partnering with Association of Black Researchers (ABR) to expose youth to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Research. Encouraging student to participate in STEM Research is an important part of our work, providing positive adult role models in STEM Research is critical to that work. STEM Researchers utilize STEM to answer questions and solve current and future societal issues. It is important that our STEM workforce development efforts include preparing youth to pursue careers in STEM Research. ABR members will volunteer for program activities in both our programs but will focus most of its support on the Experimental Design Program's STEM Journal Club. "As a student at Florida A & M University, I engaged in undergraduate STEM Research, therefore I understand the impact that of engaging in STEM Research. However, STEM Research is not a career path that precollege students are exposed to or encouraged to pursue. This partnership with Association of Black Researchers will provide us with a unique opportunity to expose youth to STEM Researchers engaging in research in a diversity of STEM disciplines". States Ms. Tokiwa T. Smith, SEM Link Founder and Executive Director.

The Association of Black Researchers (ABR) has a mission to cultivate, highlight, advance, and advocate for a multidisciplinary community of Black researchers. ABR provides professional development opportunities from various experts within the research field, a space where Black Researchers can connect on a quarterly basis, access to a directory of Black Researchers and community organizations to build community and expand the research network, and opportunities for future researchers to learn from experienced researchers at the ABR-hosted event, National Black Researchers Week. "ABR aims to become the central hub for connecting researchers to resources and partnering with SEM Link will help us accomplish this goal. There is power in collaboration and together, we will build a solid research foundation for future researchers." – Leonore Okwara, MPH, ABR Founder
