Indulgent Christmas Break to the New Forest: 3 nights from £950 pp

Family-owned and run by Alison and Chris Wilson for 25 years, the hotel has a reputation for its fine dining Beresfords Restaurant and it's more casual Lodge, Kitchen, and Bar, located in a huge, heated, stretch tent at the front of the hotel, which came to be during the early days of Covid when only outside dining was permitted.

The Balmer Lawn Hotel is also famously dog-friendly* and was voted the most dog friendly property in the whole of the New Forest – so the family dog can enjoy Christmas with you (and all the pubs in the village of Brockenhurst welcome doggies too!).  Dogs cost £25 per night.

The hotel has created the ultimate Christmas package, which begins with a sumptuous, full afternoon tea on arrival, before joining a drinks reception to meet fellow guests, and a three-course dinner created by head chef Andrew Gault and his team.

On Christmas morning, Father Christmas will make an appearance to give presents to all the children (adults and dogs also receive a gift), before a traditional Christmas lunch with menus to suit everyone.

Later, and if guests have the room, there is the option of tucking into a gourmet buffet dinner later in the evening.

Boxing Day commences with a full English breakfast – or there is brunch served mid-morning for those wishing to have a lie in, plus there will be The Big Christmas Quiz to test guests' brain power!

The evening's festivities commence with a drinks reception, prior to a grand, black-tie gala dinner.  Guests depart after breakfast on the 27^th of December.

*The hotel provides fluffy towels, water bowls and tasty treats for four-legged guests.  Located in spacious grounds and overlooking the village green, forest walks can be enjoyed direct from the hotel.  There is a tap for hosing down muddy pooches and there is even an area in the comfortable lounge where guests can sit and have meals with their pets.
