Alpha Dental Clinic Fully Supports Offering Dental Services Under the New Canada Dental Benefit

BROSSARD, Quebec - Nov. 4, 2022 - PRLog -- Dental diseases are a major public health concern that has a significant impact on quality of life, which in turn affects daily performance and overall life satisfaction. For these reasons, the federal government of Canada has introduced legislation to enact its recently announced cost-of-living plan by offering some Canadians help with dental care.

The first stage of the Canada Dental Benefit, for children aged two to twelve, is expected to provide dental care to 500,000 children at the cost of nearly $1 billion. The target implementation date is Dec. 1, 2022, and the program would cover expenses retroactive to Oct. 1, 2022.

The Canada Dental Benefit program

• For families with an adjusted net income of less than $90,000 per year and no dental coverage, the benefit would provide payments of up to $650 per child per year.
• If the family's adjusted net income is less than $70,000, each eligible child will receive $650.
• If the family's adjusted net income is between $70,000 and $79,999, each eligible child will receive $390.
• If the family's adjusted net income is between $80,000 and $89,999, each eligible child will receive $260.

This is the first stage of the government's plan to deliver dental coverage for families until a comprehensive national dental care program is developed. It is estimated that this $938 million investment would benefit 500,000 Canadian children.
