Padma Venkatraman to Headline 10th Annual Rhode Island Author Expo at Warwick's Crowne Plaza

WARWICK, R.I. - Nov. 12, 2022 - PRLog -- The Association of Rhode Island Authors (ARIA) announces that the 10th Annual Rhode Island Author Expo will be held on Saturday, December 3rd from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick, Rhode Island.

Padma Venkatraman is the award-winning author of books including Climbing The Stairs, Behind Bars, and The Bridge Home. Climbing The Stairs won the 2009 Julia Ward Howe award for young readers. She's received State writing awards in Maine, Utah, South Carolina, and New Jersey, also receiving the Bank Street College of Education Best Book award.

Pulitzer Prize winning-Boston Globe reporter Mark Arsenault will have a presentation on his recently published books, and Providence's Jon Land, author of the Caitlin Strong series of thrillers (Tor Books) and the Murder She Wrote series (Berkley) will be available to sign copies of his latest works.

The Expo will feature over 100 published Rhode Island authors. Books on display from participants will represent a wide variety of genres including romance, mystery, horror, history, biography and children's. Hundreds of autographed books will be available for purchase. A list of participating authors is posted on the website www.riauthorexpo.com. Parking and admission to the expo will be free.

In addition to book signings, the expo will feature several panels and speakers including a presentation for new and emerging writers called "The Future of Self Publishing" and panels on The Wide World of Speculative Fiction, Top Tips on Creating on Compelling YA Character, and Writing Social Justice in Fiction. A special writer's resource area will include exhibits from a variety of top literary and non-profit organizations across the region.

The Crowne Plaza is located at 801 Greenwich Avenue near the intersection of Route 5, Route 95, and Route 113 in Warwick.

The Rhode Island Author Expo is co-sponsored by Cardi's Furniture, WADK, Rhode Island State Council on the Arts and Stillwater Books.
