Follow on Google News | New Children's Book Delivers "Hope" to Children and Families Battling Childhood CancerBy: Stillwater River Publications The idea for the book came from the real-life experiences of Ella Catherine Integlia who died in 2019 at the age of fourteen after her own battle with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. After losing her own hair at age eleven, she wrote a letter to a major doll brand asking them to create a doll with no hair so that girls like her could feel confident and courageous. Ella's wisdom, strength, spirit, and positivity gave Alison the inspiration to write the story. In the end, Hope Has No Hair is an empowering story of resilience in the face of adversity. The story demonstrates to children the power of self-confidence and how to find the beauty within themselves. Alison Hornung is an award-winning philanthropist and founder of the Glimmer of Hope Foundation (http://www.projectglimmer.org) – a 501c(3) non-profit organization that shows girls and boys their strength and beauty through the donation of bald dolls and provides hope to families battling childhood cancer.
