Exclusive showing of documentary Exploring Missouri's German Heritage

ST. LOUIS - Jan. 11, 2023 - PRLog -- Missouri Life Media announces an exclusive showing of Exploring Missouri's German Heritage, a documentary produced by Missouri Life Media, at the John B Busch Brewery event center in Washington, MO on February 23, 2023. The public is invited to view this 90-minute documentary, while being served a four-course meal of German dishes. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Washington Historical Society in honor of the late Washington-area historian Marc Houseman.

"We're looking forward to hosting an exclusive night of a four-course German dinner made by Hermann Wurst Haus, accompanied by wine from Stone Hill Winery and German beer by Urban Chestnut Brewery. There will be  entertainment throughout the evening, in between showing the documentary in segments," says Danita Allen Wood, co-owner of  Missouri Life Media and executive producer of the film. "We are so happy to be presenting this in the original Busch Brewery in Washington." The showing will be accompanied by live commentary from the author of Explore Missouri's German Heritage, the Emmy-winning producers of the documentary, Emmy-winning Missouri Life TV Host Meredith Hoenes, and members of the Missouri Humanities Council, the sponsor of the documentary.

Exploring Missouri's German Heritage was inspired by the book by Dr. W. Arthur Mehrhoff.  Along with Mehrhoff, the late Marc Housman is one of the  historians on the documentary, which includes rare archival materials as well as places people can visit along the Missouri River. The documentary lets viewers sample the German culture and influence upon Missouri's development: their bedrock antislavery principles and support of the Union; their industrious work ethic and craftsmanship that shaped so much of our built environment; and a talent for fun that germinated an abundance of popular breweries, wineries, bandstands, and other treasured aspects of our culture.
