Follow on Google News | Melih Elcin takes advisory board position at Healthcare Simulation Middle EastThe formal role includes counsel towards institutional engagement and participation.
Melih Elcin says, "Türkiye is the 11th largest economy by purchasing power parity. It is among the most visited countries in the world and home to 19 UNESCO World Heritage sites. In the healthcare domain, it has the lowest mortality rate and the largest number of ICU beds per 100,000 people as compared to most European countries. With regards to healthcare simulation, it is a medical education destination with universities hosting observation programs, train-the-trainer courses and knowledge transfer visits. An issue shared with the Middle East is visibility of the nation & region as entities leading in healthcare transformation and adoption of best practices. As Ferooz Sekandarpoor commented in an earlier press release - 3000 attendees were at the 5th Saudi Health Simulation Conference. Don't be surprised when I say these champions and subject matter experts are a percentage of the cumulative volume in the Middle East. My role in this context is to influence visibility of local and regional communities." The formal role includes counsel towards institutional engagement and participation. Ansari Shabnam Ateeq, President, Healthcare Simulation Middle East says, "Turkey's hospitality is rivaled by its infrastructure in healthcare education. With Melih ELCIN's acceptance of advisory board position, a large piece of the Middle East puzzle is in place." Deb Tauber MSN, RN, CHSE, CEN shares, "Melih Elcin has proven commitment to non-profit initiatives for over 15 years. He has served as chair at ASPE and SESAM and is the recipient of 2019 Outstanding Educator of the Year Award. With 50+ peer reviewed papers and at the center of action in healthcare simulation, he leads students and peers through example. Lance Baily adds, "Non-profit roles aren't for everyone. With peers like Melih Elcin, there is cohesion of efforts, expansion of ideas and the pleasure of working with like-minded individuals."
