Actress Denyce Lawton Stars in TV One's Film 'Under the Influence'

WASHINGTON - Jan. 29, 2023 - PRLog -- Actress Denyce Lawton ('Hot Zone | Anthrax' – Nat Geo|Disney) is starring in TV One's film 'Under the Influence' directed by Courtney Miller ('Games People Play' | 'Saints & Sinners' | 'Twisted House Sitter'). Denyce will star as Danae Ryan, joined by Actor BJ Britt ('Agents of Shield' - Disney) as Seth Blackman along with Jared Wofford as Robert. 'Under the Influence,' premieres next Sunday, February 5, 2023 at 7:00pm EST as part of TV One's new Sunday Night Movie series.

Danae's life is thrown into a treacherous tailspin after ending an affair with a dangerous lover she met in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). When the mistake goes too far…The intoxicating affair spins out of control, 'Under the Influence.' The film is produced for TV One by Swirl Films. "The Swirl Team continues to be a valued and integral partner to the TV One enterprise as we invest in our original film and programming pipeline," said TV One's Executive Producer Jason Ryan. "Under the Influence will provide our TV One viewers with another gut-wrenching thriller, expanding our unique film roster."

"I learned a lot on this production. From what the 13^th step is in recovery and how detrimental a romantic relationship can be to someone in a bad place. To also learning different depths of where I can go and pull from as an actor. This role was challenging emotionally, mentally and physically. I loved every moment that I was able to experiment, dig deeper and upgrade my craft." says Denyce Lawton. Denyce is currently starring in and filming another film that is set to release later in 2023. She is also in pre-production for a personal passion project that she is developing independently.
