This competition has been an amazing experience so far, and I can't wait to see how far I'll go!" GSEA is the premier awards program for students who own or operate a business while attending college/university. Unlike pitch competitions, GSEA focuses on identifying students who exhibit the tenacious spirit of the entrepreneur. The judges – a panel of experienced entrepreneurs, business leaders, and angel investors – used a rubric to help determine which student has shown the strongest capacity to navigate the chaos of starting a business and the deepest drive to succeed, all while completing a degree. The additional student entrepreneur finalists who competed in the GSEA NJ competition were:
"This year's GSEA competition was so impressive – each of the six finalists inspired the room as they presented their businesses and growth goals," said Larry Prager, EONJ's chair for GSEA. "It is difficult to be an entrepreneur. It is difficult to be a college student. To do both things at the same time is remarkable. I have no doubt that these contestants will all be successful entrepreneurs – and that the competition will assist them in achieving their goals, thanks to the tools, mentoring, and networking that GSEA provides." Withum, a leading advisory and public accounting firm, served as the lead Event Sponsor for this year's GSEA NJ competition. "Withum is a longstanding supporter of entrepreneurs and the next generation of business leaders," said Fatema Raza, Partner at Withum and GSEA judge. "By giving back, we champion the leaders of tomorrow, help them create opportunities, and sustain our thriving local business community." Additional sponsors included: Eastman Companies (commercial real estate), The S3 Agency (advertising agency), Dietitian Boss (business coach for dietitians), Myers Wollin (intellectual property attorneys), Strategic Exit Advisors (investment bank for entrepreneurs) Local GSEA competitions are currently underway around the world.
