Retired educator Tim McCarthy outlines a simple plan in his book Raising 4 Dimensional Children in a 2 Dimensional World, where the 2 dimensional world is the world of screens, and the 4 dimensional world is reality.

He not only provides the research behind why living in the 2 dimensional world is dangerous, he also provides over 400 age-appropriate real world activities to help parents connect with their children. One unique theory he has for the teen suicide issue is Frankenstein Envy.
