Luminate Church of Covina Introduces Service for Sri Lankan-Americans

LOS ANGELES - March 9, 2023 - PRLog -- Luminate Church based in Covina, California is doing something unique which is offering their Christian Sri Lankan-American members services in their language. On Saturday, March 4th, 2023, they held the first worship in Sinhalese and hope to continue. The lead Pastor at the Luminate Church, who approved of this community building project, is Tommy Casarez.

The Sri Lankan services were led by church members Thilini, Jeevanthi, and Kanthi Wijesinghe. The hymns and the sermon were in Sinhalese one of the main languages of Sri Lanka. In the future, as services grow, they hope to include worship in Tamil language as well. The group wants to reach out to Christian Sri Lankan-Americans in the area to provide fellowship in their language. They started small but they have a strong dedicated group to carry on: A range of people from kids to the elderly embraced the new service.

The service will be held every Saturday at 10am at 422 First St., Covina, CA 91723
