Local Ministry to Have Sri Lankan Food Table

LOS ANGELES - Sept. 25, 2023 - PRLog -- The newly started Sri Lankan Ministry through the Luminate Church of Covina has been growing slowly & steadily since it began in March of 2023. They have a number of dedicated members who are excited about worshipping with fellow Sri Lankan-Americans. Now the group will be participating in the main church's Missions Banquet event by sharing their food culture with the rest of the community. Pastor Tommy Casarez of the Luminate Church have been coordinating Sri-Lankan American related ministry events thru, long time church member, Andy Jay. The Sri Lankan Ministry is led by members Kanthi Wijesinghe along with Thilini & Jeewanthi Wijesinghe. They conduct church services, including sermons and hymns, in Sinhalese which is one of the main languages of Sri Lanka.

Missions Banquet event will take place on Saturday, September 30th, 2023 at 5pm. The entrance fee is $10. The location to taste a variety of international food will be the Church location in Covina, CA: 250 E. San Bernadino Rd. The Sri Lankan Ministry will contribute a selection of authentic Sri Lankan food for the event where other countries will be represented as well. All are welcome to attend.
