YMCA Summer Day Camp Registration Underway, Virtual Parent Orientation: May 4

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. - April 10, 2023 - PRLog -- Southeast Ventura County YMCA summer camp registration is underway. Camp is from June 5 to August 4 through the Simi Valley Family YMCA and from June 20 to August 18 through the Yarrow Family YMCA. A virtual parent orientation will be held Thursday, May 4 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Each of the nine weeks of summer camp will have a theme including cooking, science, music and dance. There will be swim days, arts and crafts and games. Activities are based on the campers' age group. Camp hours are 9:00 a.m. (7:00 a.m. extended care) until 4:00 p.m. (6 p.m. extended care). Prior to pool use, campers will take a swim test to help gauge water skills.

Campers in TK to 5^th grade can attend full-time (four to five days a week) or part-time (two to three days a week) for the entire camp session or selected weeks. Leaders-In-Training camp is for 6th to 10th graders (full-time only).

"The YMCA provides a safe, fun environment for kids to experience new adventures, meet new friends and continue learning all summer long," says Jaime Gonzalez, the Southeast Ventura County YMCA's Senior Director of Culture and Engagement. "All camp staff is CPR and First Aid certified."

The Yarrow YMCA camp will be at the Y daycare site at Willow Elementary School (29026 Laro Dr., Agoura Hills). The Simi YMCA camp will take place at the Atherwood Elementary School Y site (2350 E. Greensward St., Simi Valley).
