TakeCHARGE Campaign: 5 Steps to Safer Health Care 2023 Season – Step 1

WANTAGH, N.Y. - April 10, 2023 - PRLog -- Pulse Center for Patient Safety Education & Advocacy, a leading grassroots nonprofit dedicated to teaching people and communities about making health care safer, is proud to announce that the 2023 edition of the TakeCHARGE Campaign: 5 Steps to Safer Health Care launched in March.

Since its inception in 2019, the TakeCHARGE Campaign has been helping people across the United States — through social media, websites and articles — to take one of five "Steps to Safer Health Care" each month from April to August.

The Step for April – the first of the 5 Steps — is: Understand and Complete Your Advance Directives. One in particular — the Healthcare Proxy — states in writing who you choose to make medical decisions for you if you are unable to.

The TakeCHARGE Campaign is designed to help people make informed decisions about their health care, understand their rights as patients, and become more involved in their own care. The campaign also encourages people to speak up and ask questions when they have concerns about their care.
