Follow on Google News | Group seeks fines, jail for 20,000+ women for doxing on "Are We Dating The Same Guy" Facebook GroupBy: Protect Men The group will seek both monetary damages and jail time for the defendants. The group allege that the defendants are engaging in a coordinated effort to dox and harass men all across the country, resulting in significant emotional distress, reputational damage, and opening them up to violence and harm. Doxing is the practice of publicly revealing personal information about an individual which leads to harassment and a wide range of abusive behavior, such as false or unsubstantiated accusations, threats, insults, stalking, and physical violence. In addition to monetary damages and jail time, the group plans to publicly identify all the individuals responsible for the doxing in local news outlets. The group believes that by exposing those responsible, taking them to court, and seeking fines and jail time, they can help prevent future instances of doxing and harassment. The group has stated that they have countless screen shots showing women disclosing personal information, making unsubstantiated claims, and insults to thousands tens of thousands of local women in private Facebook groups which is causing harassment, reputational damage, and emotional distress without discourse or giving the men the ability to defended themselves. We will not tolerate this malicious behavior and we are determined to hold those responsible accountable for their actions. The plaintiffs will be seeking monetary damages of upwards of $5,000 per incident, as well as up to 6 months jail time for the defendants posting their personal information, and felonies for the creator and admins of the groups for intentionally creating an environment to cause emotional distress and opening up men to harm and violence. They hope this action will send a clear message that doxing and harassment and making unsubstantiated claims are serious defamatory offenses that can carry severe consequences. The penalties for doxing and harassment can include fines, imprisonment, and restraining orders, depending on the severity of the offense and the jurisdiction where it takes place. Additionally, if the doxing results in harm to the victim, the perpetrator may be held liable for any damages or injuries that were caused. The action has already garnered significant support from both men and women, and most are expressing their support for the plaintiffs. The group is encouraging anyone who has been the victim of doxing or harassment from the "are we dating the same guy" Facebook Groups to come forward and speak out against this type of behavior. They believe that by standing together, they can put an end to this type of harmful conduct. For more information, please contact connect@dontdateher.org End
