Last year's sold-out event to benefit the Capital Theatre featured exemplary performances by more than 30 legendary musicians and singers. The hearts and souls of the audience and the musicians became "as one" for four hours. Several of the musicians and songwriters onstage played with and wrote songs for acclaimed recording artists such as Dolly Parton, The Bar-Kays, Percy Sledge, James Taylor, B.J. Thomas, Doobie Brothers, Ben E. King, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Martha & The Vandellas, Tim McGraw, Nazareth, Vern Gosdin, Peaches & Herb, Gregg Allman, Con Hunley, Chuck Berry, Albert King, Rod Stewart, and Johnny Winter. This year's concert will also benefit the theatre. A super-jam session is planned that will feature an array of extraordinarily talented musicians. Many of the artists who performed onstage at last year's concert are making return appearances this year with a line-up that includes crowd-pleasing songs by The Turtles, Crosby, Stills & Nash, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Jimi Hendrix, James Taylor, Janis Joplin, Santana, Linda Ronstadt, Bob Dylan, June & Johnny Cash, KC & The Sunshine Band, Joe Cocker, Allman Brothers Band, Marshall Tucker Band, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. An array of prizes will be given away during the night and Greeneville local Margo Olmsted is back by popular demand as Master of Ceremonies. Tickets are on sale now. General admission tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. The show begins at 7.30 p.m. and ends at 11.30 p.m. Doors open at 6.45 p.m., and there will be an open bar and concessions.
