Follow on Google News | The Wells International Foundation (WIF) Welcomes Anthony Fleet to Its Board of DirectorsAs the current manager of United Airlines' hub communications at Newark Liberty International Airport, Fleet sought a position on WIF's board because he believes that being an ally of women requires supporting and contributing to a woman-centered organization that benefits generations of women globally. His recent service as Communication Chair at the Black Business Resource Group at United Airlines and his service as Executive Lead for the Black Employee Impact Group when he worked at Beam Suntory in Chicago, IL demonstrate his commitment to actively contributing to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the workplace. They make him exceptionally qualified to move WIF closer to achieving its mission, vision, and purpose. Fleet holds a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) with a specialization in Strategic Communications from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, where he was NU Medill Class Valedictorian & Student Service Award Winner. His graduate school experience provided him with the opportunity to leave his hometown of Philadelphia for the first time and included a life-changing study abroad experience at Sciences Po in Paris, France. Prior to grad school, Fleet made the Dean's List during all four of his years at La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication with concentrations in Mass Media and Journalism at this institution. WIF's Founder and CEO Dr. Monique Y. Wells had the following to say about welcoming Fleet, who happens to be one of her mentees, to the board: "Thanks to the unique path that he has walked through higher education and corporate employment, Anthony Fleet has a personal – even visceral – understanding of what WIF stands for and is working to accomplish in the world. His expertise in storytelling and strategic communication will be invaluable for building relationships with new donors, granting institutions, and corporate sponsors as well as strengthening our relationships with current supporters. He has taken the lead in our newly formed Communications Committee and is already immersing himself in the history of our outreach to determine what is currently working, what we can improve, and what we should eliminate in terms of communication practices so we can maximize our ability to serve." About the Wells International Foundation The Wells International Foundation (WIF) is a U.S. non-profit organization whose mission is to empower women and persons of African descent to realize their highest potential through arts, literacy, study abroad, and other educational and cultural programs. We are building a network of global citizens who embrace inclusiveness and foster a spirit of cooperation throughout the world.
