The Bolger Foundation Announces Spring 2023 Grants

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. - May 15, 2023 - PRLog -- The Bolger Foundation has announced the results of its November 1, 2022-February 1, 2023 funding cycle. Ten (501)(c)(3) organizations will receive a total of $620,300, including $350,000 via challenge grants.

Hands in 4 Youth (West Milford, NJ) received $10,000 for a new roof on their primary camp building. HI4Y provides summer camps for inner-city children in New York and New Jersey. They also offer year-round educational support and enrichment programs.

Midland Park Ambulance Corps (Midland Park, NJ) received $127,000 toward a new ambulance. They provide free emergency services to Midland Park and surrounding communities.

Mote Marine Laboratory (Sarasota, FL) received $100,000 toward expansion of their facilities. This scientific research institute furthers conservation and sustainable stewardship of the world's oceans.

My Possibilities (Plano, TX) received $25,000 for improvements to campus buildings. My Possibilities is the first year-round continuing education and job placement program in North Texas for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Spectrum for Living (Bergenfield, NJ) received $8,300 to replace the HVAC system in their group home. They provide housing and clinical services for adults with developmental disabilities.

Assistance Dogs of the West (Santa Fe, NM) got a 4:1 challenge — raise $200,000; receive $50,000. ADW pairs service dogs with individuals and communities, from one-on-one matches to facility dogs for courthouses, crisis response, etc.. Funding is for renovation and expansion of their campus and training facility.

James Rose Center (Ridgewood, NJ) will raise $1.85 million to receive $150,000. Created in 1953 as the home of visionary 20th-century landscape architect James Rose, this unique site is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Funds are for its rehabilitation.

NY-NJ Trail Conference (Mahwah, NJ/Harriman, NY) was challenged to raise $175,000 to receive $50,000. Funds will go towards renovation of the Welch Trail Education Center in Harriman State Park, which is used to house and train AmeriCorps volunteers who assist with trail maintenance, education, and restoration.

Solid Foundation Youth Outreach (Paterson, NJ) was granted a 7:1 challenge: Raise $175,000 to receive $25,000. Dedicated to transforming lives through skateboarding and art, Solid is celebrating their 20th anniversary by moving into new headquarters. Funding will pay for its build-out.

Undies for Everyone (Houston, TX) must raise $91,800 in order to receive $75,000. UFE supplies new underwear to needy children in 17 cities nationwide. Funds will cover warehouse expansion plus equipment to increase sorting and distribution capabilities.

"Grant applicants in this funding cycle included many worthy candidates," said JT Bolger, president of The Bolger Foundation. "It made for a difficult decision. We're proud of those we've supported and look forward to continuing to help these organizations achieve their goals."
