Follow on Google News | Successful completion of the Isale Oja Agege borehole projectBy: Hope Spring Water scarcity has long been an issue in most of Agege's communities, and the construction of the new rail network only compounded it. This has led to a severe shortage of accessible, safe water, causing demand to soar. The demand for water in the community has pushed the few commercial wells into overuse, thus making it expensive. Not only does this create a difficult situation for people who have to queue up daily to get water, but the quality of the water is not great either: they have to use alum before using it for food or household tasks. So far in 2023, Hope Spring Water has sponsored five water projects in sub-Saharan Africa. four water projects in Sierra Leone and one borehole project in Nigeria. More information about Hope Spring Water projects visit https://www.hopespring.org.uk/ This will increase their productivity, as women will be able to focus on their businesses and families instead of walking miles to collect water. The children in the community will also focus on their school rather than spending hours collecting water. Also, waterborne illnesses connected to drinking dirty water will reduce in the community, particularly among children, and we are immensely proud to be able to help alleviate water poverty in this way. Hope Springs is grateful for the support of its donors and partners in making this project possible. We will love to make a positive difference in more communities that lack access to clean, safe water by giving them access to safe water.
