These 10 hours of 'classes' culminated in helicopter tours of the projects discussed, upcoming projects, and areas of concern for VCPWA. Matt LaVere, District 1, Chairman; Jeff Gorell, District 2 Supervisor; Kelly Long, District 3, Supervisor; Janice Parvin, District 4, Supervisor; Vianey Lopez, District 5, Supervisor; were each awarded a framed Certificate and hard hat complete with a graduation tassel! The VCPWA University has been seen as a best practice model for other agencies in Ventura County who are now providing briefing classes for the Supervisors. Some lucky Ventura County students watched the celebrations. These were just a few of the 1,300 VC students enjoying a highly successful Public Works Day at the government center on Tuesday.
