Follow on Google News | Creating Community with Ehren Tool, a ceramics workshop, free for VeteransJoin us for a day of creating and embellishing cups representing your unique experiences. Veterans and civilians are invited to bring personal items to use in this workshop. This workshop is free for veterans. During the workshop you will use images and medals, along with other items, to make molds and decorate these cups. The dialogue from military and civilian attendees, sharing individual and collective experiences, will create a unique discussion among the attendees of this workshop. Cups thrown by Ehren Tool will be provided. You will create one-of-a-kind cups that exhibit a representation of your experience. Ehren Tool is a Marine Corps veteran of the 1991 Gulf War. He has made and given away more than 25,000 cups since 2001 and he has made cups across the US, Vietnam, China, Germany and France. Tool also has work in the Smithsonian's Renwick Museum. He has been featured on the PBS show "Craft in America". He lives and works in Berkeley CA. Tuition is $175 for Non-Members/$ This program is made possible through a generous grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
