New Children's Book Aims To Help Children Struggling With Mealtime

WILMETTE, Ill. - June 16, 2023 - PRLog -- Inspirebytes Omni Media announces the release of the children's book Miko Learns to Chew in both English and Spanish. The book was written by two speech pathologists as a tool to help their patients and families with various feeding-related issues. Playfully illustrated by Indiana artist Patrick Laurent, the reader follows along as Miko the Monkey explores the sensation of chewing his food with his teeth—a predicament for many young children learning to chew.

Based on their combined 35 years of experience, authors Taylor Thomas and Andrea Scida created a new and fun way to help their young patients explore how to eat. Taylor shares, "We noticed a lack of books about feeding challenges, and we wanted to teach eating in a kid-friendly and relatable way." Andrea adds, "Over the years, we realized there are no children's books that support what we actually teach during therapy sessions. My youngest child inspired us to write this book as I can see how reading books to him excites him."
