David L Cook Wins His Eighth Emmy Award

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - July 5, 2023 - PRLog -- David L Cook and Skip Martin (Lead Singer for Kool and the Gang) took home one of the highest honors of the evening by capturing the Emmy Award for Outstanding Arrangement/Composition with the project, "Legends Unite for St. Jude." A project that is very dear to both artists hearts. Martin who had the idea of redoing the old Curtis Mayfield classic, People Get Ready envisioned it being done by not one, but 29 musical legends. The project included dignitaries such as Stevie Wonder, John P Kee, Taylor Dayne, Ray Parker Jr. Dazz Band, Neal McCoy and the list just continues on. Cook stated that, "I am honored to have been included into this project and that Skip had faith enough in me to ask me to help him." This Emmy win makes a total of eight for Cook and a first for Martin.
"Children's cancer research is one of the most important things we can put our money and efforts into. The children are our future and if we don't protect them then we are surely asking for failure." stated Cook.
The duo are already talking about and making plans for their next musical adventure.
