MONROE, N.C. - Sept. 22, 2016 - PRLog -- Here we go again! The Artists Music Guild is preparing for its star studded event to take place November 12th at the AG Convention Center in Monroe, NC. That's right! The 2016 AMG Heritage Awards will make its way to Union County for the third straight year. In the past this program has been hosted by some of the most legendary performers in entertainment history. Artists such as Chubby Checker, Mallory Lewis and Lamb Chop, Billy Gilman and Bucky Covington. This year is sure to go down in the books as one that no one wants to miss. Picking up the hosting baton for this year is none other than R&B legend Ms. Freda Payne (Band of Gold) and television/movie star Clifton Davis who is currently a regular on the hit NBC series Madam Secretary.

Additional legends slated to appear are: The Orlon's (Wha Watusi), Evelyn Champagne King (Shame), Peggy March (I Will Follow Him), Gene Chandler (Duke of Earl), Terri Gibbs (Sombody's Knocking), Dee Dee Sharp (Mashed Potato Time), David L Cook (I Go Crazy), David Meece (We Are the Reason), Christy Sutherland Mandrell (Somebody Died For Me), Tommy Brandt (Nuff Said), Marlana VanHoose (National Anthem) and many many more. The Guild's Official Orchestra, Steel City Sound conducted by Terry Webster will be making beautiful music for the evening. They will be joined by the Mississippi Youth Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Peter Whitham.

One additional highlight will be the participation of the Mrs. Senior USA and Mrs. Senior Universe organizations. These ladies will be escorting the stars up the red carpet and presenting all of the crystal statues to the evenings recipients. The Guild is very excited to formally announce their partnership with these wonderful organizations.

Nothing however makes a queen sparkle more that diamonds. The Guild's partner ECJ Luxe (A Division of Diamonds Direct) will be on hand to dress out all of the stars in millions of dollars' worth of watches and diamonds.

The Guild prides itself on helping not only new artists find their way, but also helping older artists to stay relevant and current in today's market. During the AMG Heritage Awards the Guild showcases the legends of the past with new artists of today and then incorporates students from the public school systems to give them a chance to perform onstage in front of a live audience and then to be broadcasted into 17 million homes across the country. The Guild's executive president, recording star David L Cook says, "This is the sole purpose of our heart. To give these kids an experience they may never have again. But at least in the three hours that show is running, they will experience what it feels like to be a star!"

During the AMG Convention that leads up to the awards broadcast the AMG invites at least four to five hundred kids from the public school systems to come to their offices at the Monroe Crossing Mall in Monroe, North Carolina for a day of mentoring and fun. Kids are taught singing and performance skills as well as being given the chance to fellowship with other schools who might come from various economic, racial and diversified backgrounds. During their mentoring sessions the Guild also provides each student with a book bag and a school supply starter kit. Jimmy Davis the Guild's president said, "We want to make sure each kid has an equal opportunity and a good start. Some parents can't afford even the smallest things such as a book bag, so, if we can give just that we have made a difference in some small way. No child should have to be embarrassed or feel less than who they are because they have needs."

The Guild is in partnership with the City of Monroe and several Union County municipalities such as, Mineral Springs, Waxhaw, Indian Trail, Marshville and Hemby Bridge.
