CMRIT Sets New Benchmark for Innovation, Hosting 24-hour National Social Hackathon

CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT) and Atos India joined forces to successfully organize the National Social Hackathon, a groundbreaking event that brought together aspiring innovators from across the country.
 
BANGALORE, India - July 7, 2023 - PRLog -- The National Social Hackathon, jointly organized by CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT) and Atos India, was a groundbreaking event that united aspiring innovators from across the country. With Mr. Umar Ali Shaikh, CEO of Atos India Pvt. Ltd, as the chief guest, the hackathon witnessed an extraordinary display of innovation and commitment towards addressing social challenges.

The event received an overwhelming response of 108 entries, showcasing fierce competition and exceptional talent. After a meticulous evaluation process, 25 outstanding teams were selected to showcase their innovations. These teams were further assessed by experts from the Indian Institute of Science (IISC).

The hackathon comprised two categories of innovation: software and hardware. Participants were encouraged to push the boundaries of technology and develop inventive solutions to tackle social challenges. The event aimed to foster creativity and make a positive impact on society.

Team Planeteers and Team Bock Automotive shared the first prize for their innovative approaches in identifying and eliminating highly polluting automobiles, while Team Cybiorg secured the runner-up position with their convenient alternative for physiotherapy patients. The participants showcased their dedication and creativity throughout the 24-hour hackathon.

Notable teams like ECO from Bellary Institute of Technology and Management (BITM) focused on transforming floral waste into useful products, contributing to environmental sustainability. Another remarkable team, "S.A.P.P.H.I.R.E." from Kalasalingam University, introduced an expression and gesture-based hardware control mechanism, making technology more accessible and intuitive for users.

The National Social Hackathon served as a platform for young minds to demonstrate their passion, skills, and commitment to social innovation. Dr. Sharmila, the event coordinator, expressed gratitude to Atos India for their collaboration and unwavering support. She commended the participants for their dedication and commitment to leveraging technology for social good.
